Dehradun:The launch occurred during the 10th edition of SIMULUS, the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Dehradun's annual flagship simulation event, which was organized from October 4–7 in association with AIIMS Rishikesh. The gathering serves as a dynamic forum for promoting communication, creativity, and cooperation in medical education by bringing together international leaders, educators, and healthcare simulation innovators.

Dr. Vinod K. Paul, a member of NITI Aayog and a former chair of numerous government counseling committees, attended the Center's opening, watched a live demonstration, expressed gratitude for the endeavor, and urged a broader use of AI and VR in healthcare education.
By establishing immersive, risk-free, and experiential learning environments, artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) are revolutionizing medical education. These technologies enhance students' academic understanding while enabling them to develop real-world clinical skills and decision-making abilities. In addition to HIMS students, the Center of Excellence will be open to outside medical professionals and students throughout Uttarakhand, expanding its reach and influence on capacity building.
"The establishment of an AI- and VR-based Center of Excellence in medical simulation at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dehradun, represents a significant advancement in medical education," stated Dr. Ashok Kumar Deorari, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University. Realistic, secure, and highly interactive learning environments will help our students and external learners develop their skills, critical thinking, and inventiveness, equipping them for success in international healthcare systems. Medical, nursing, and allied healthcare workers will also benefit greatly from this initiative, which will improve their professional development and training.

"We are thrilled to open Uttarakhand's first Center of Excellence in AI and VR Medical Simulation at HIMS Dehradun—one of India's most prestigious medical institutions," stated Sabarish Chandrasekaran, co-founder and CEO of MediSim VR. This lab serves as a link between next-generation experiential learning and conventional medical training. Such programs, in our opinion at MediSim VR, will equip aspiring medical professionals with cutting-edge knowledge, self-assurance, and international exposure.
Gazing AheadThrough this collaboration, MediSim VR and HIMS are fusing accessibility and innovation to redefine the future of healthcare education. This partnership establishes a standard for how learning ecosystems powered by AI and VR can mold the next generation of medical professionals as India rapidly rises to the top of the world medical sciences rankings.
